TRAINING WITH A PURPOSE
Check out the video below. It is elite level athletes in preparation for the upcoming hockey season. There are NHL, college, junior and high school players training with functional exercises in a group setting. In a group atmosphere they are constantly pushing each other. They run, jump, lift and press. They are training with a purpose and eventually will be challenged by a test that involves a clock, coach or a competitor.
Our WOD Class members train in a group setting with functional exercises. They also run, jump, lift and press. They are also challenged and tested.
The training philosophy for professional or elite level athletes and people training for general fitness do not differ by design but only by load and intensity. Both realize the benefits by training with multiple joint, big muscle movements. Both realize the benefits training with motivation. And all train like athletes and will eventually be tested.
