Keeping a tight midline is demanded while not only pulling from the ground but receiving the weight in a full squat. 2011 Crossfit Games Winners
The Crossfit Games was bigger and badder this year. They keep finding ways to challenge the athletes for the "Fittest on Earth". Participants that qualify for the Games have to be ready for whatever they throw at them. Just being inhumanly strong is not good enough. Being able to run a sub-5 mile wouldn't do it either. Athletes need a great combination of many different fitness domains.
Congratulation to all the athletes and participants especially Annie Thorisdottir and Rich Froning Jr. standing on the podium at the end.
I would have to believe that there is a small difference between who is standing on the podium at the end and who misses out. There is no question that natural physical capacities have something to do with it. But I truly believe that the slight difference from being the cream of the crop in any endeavor has to do with the ability to work harder than everyone else.
I never watched the champions of the Games train but I will guarantee you that they found their breaking point and pushed further. Found it again and pushed further.
