CONTENT OF CHARACTER
People at STX constantly impress us by their increased fitness levels. They walk in, check the whiteboard and get to work. Their results are evident as their times decrease and their weights increase. More importantly they realize the benefits as they walk through their daily activities.
These people are type 'A' personality people. It is always interesting to see how their values seem to mirror their personal and professional lives.
Consistency, work ethic, having the ability to do what others won't are all qualities of highly effective and successful people. Many people have dedicated themselves to a physical training regimen that offers them a healthier life. They don't settle for mediocracy in the things that are important to them.
What is important to you? What do you strive to do with perfection?

Computers and video games are great but kids should be physically active. A good balance is necessary to raise healthy kids. This is the last week of our Member + Kids Class on Tuesday and Thursday. All of the kids have done a great job learning about physical fitness and participating in the challenging workouts. The parents weren't too shabby either. One of the best comments we heard was when one of our members said her son was trying to recruit his brother, sister and friend because he thought is was a blast.

There are two types of people in the world. Some people have the innate ability to complain, whine, create problems out of nothing and sap the energy out of everyone they deal with. Then there are other people that are engaging and uplifting. Talk with them for a few moments and can't help but feel better. Put them in a group and the group is better. When you surround yourself with these types of people, you and your group have the ability to achieve more.

Should kids lift weights is a question that often arises in the gym. Many people have grown up with conventional wisdom stating weight training in youths will stunt their growth. People still recite that notion without any effectual basis besides it is what "they" said. One thing I do know for sure is that kids like to play games and have fun. Combine proper training, competition, fun and you have a great youth strength and conditioning program.
